A CAT could be left permanently injured after a thug shot it in the neck.

Donna Thomas, 49, was horrified when she found Fergie, two, covered in blood on the sofa in her home at Ffordd Meigan in Beaumaris on Friday.

“They’ve got to be sick really, to look at a poor defenceless animal and shoot it,” she said.

Mrs Thomas initially thought that Fergie had been attacked by a dog, after finding a puncture wound in his neck.

“I was really scary. I lost two cats last year that were attacked by a dog and I thought ‘Oh God, not again’,” she said.

However, an X-Ray at the Bodrwnsiwn surgery in Four Crosses revealed a pellet stuck in Fergie’s neck.

“I just couldn’t believe it. I don’t know who could do such a thing,” she said.

Donna called North Wales Police, and the RSPCA, who contributed a £50 voucher towards Fergie’s treatment.

She added that the attack left Fergie with nerve damage in his front leg.

“He’s putting weight back on his leg when he’s still, but he’s not walking properly by any means.

“He might get the feeling back, he might not. It’s a case of wait and see,”she said.
Anyone with information on the shooting should contact North Wales Police on 101.
