A LITTLE girl lost her fight with cancer but not before friends and family brought her Disney dream to her bedside.
Lucy Neil, four, died last week after battling an inoperable heart tumour.
Her uncle, Steve Daniels, from St Asaph, paid tribute to the “bright” child.
The Make a Wish Foundation offered to fly Lucy to Paris to enjoy a holiday in Disneyland, but despite chemotherapy and radiotherapy the cancer spread and she was too ill to travel.
To make Lucy’s dream come true, colleagues of Mr Daniels, who works at Watkin Jones Homes in St Asaph, rallied round to bring a magical day to Yorkhill Children’s hospital in Glasgow where Lucy was being treated.
Mr Daniels said: “We decided as a group to bring Disneyland to her. It’s been so hard for me and my wife Michelle, but it gave us some comfort knowing we were doing something for our niece. She was overjoyed. We dressed up as Disney characters, with Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Daisy Duck and more. She had an absolutely amazing day.”
Staff at Watkin Jones also set up a sponsored walk to raise funds for the Schiehallion Cancer Ward where Lucy was treated, adding to a total of more than £8,500 raised by the family and supporters.
