A CLEANER at a holiday park is making a bid for the Mrs Galaxy sash.
Tanya Mills, 32 of St Asaph, current holder of the Mrs Denbighshire title, was recently accepted to the finals of Mrs Galaxy.
Mrs Mills, who is originally from Bulgaria and works as a cleaner in Pontins in Prestatyn, said: “I did not expected it to be selected, so it came as a very good surprise to me.
“I have always been interested in beauty and fashion but had to concentrate on completing my BA degree in Maths and IT.”
Mrs Mills said the chance to raise funds for charity was what drew her into the world of beauty pageants.
She said: “I am fundraising for the Wales Air Ambulance. I chose the charity because it really saves lives. I wanted to do something in our area, for Wales, and it’s supported entirely by donations which help operate three air ambulances across the country, so every pound counts.”
Mrs Mills, who has two children, said her family and friends were providing great support, both in her fundraising, which will see her tackle the slopes of Snowdon on October 16, and in the pageant.
She said: “It is an honour for me to represent my county and my town. Everyone has been very supportive. I hope I will make my family and people proud.
“I’m doing sponsored walk, and I don’t have a set target as I hope to raise as much as possible to help the charity. I’m looking forward for the walk and I’m getting ready which is very exciting. I have been training at the gym. Don’t worry - I’ll get it done, I’ll complete it.”
