Llandudno 228-7
St Asaph 130 all out
Llandudno won by 98 runs
LLANDUDNO’S Premier League fate rests in the balance following a complaint from Pwllheli CC over last week’s unfulfilled fixture.
The Bank Holiday Monday clash between the reigning champions and the Premier league’s bottom club was called off due to Llandudno’s involvement in the Welsh Cup final against Swansea.
The final, originally scheduled for Sunday 28, was delayed by a day due to rain, making The Oval outfit unable to fulfill their league match.
With the league match cancelled, Pwllheli have since issued a complaint to league’s organisers in a bid to claim the points from the cancelled game.
A statement on the Gwynedd club’s website read: “As the League have now (without our agreement) removed today's Premier game at Llandudno from this site, Pwllheli CC can confirm that we have put in an official complaint to claim this fixture.
“The full text of our complaint we are sure will be made available by the League in the name of natural justice, transparency and the fairness to all and in the true "Spirit of Cricket".
Tudno were, at the time of going to print, waiting to hear from the league on their decision, with a verdict in favour of Pwllheli ending any remaining hopes of picking up their sixth straight North Wales Premier League title.
Things are finely balanced at the top of the table, with Llandudno 43 points behind Connah’s Quay at the top of the table with a game in hand.
The club were also docked 18 points for fielding Australian star Gordon Kerr whilst suspended.
On the pitch, Tudno cruised to victory against St Asaph to keep alive their title aspirations.
Sam Rimmington top scored with 60, whilst solid knocks from Gordon Kerr, Steve Smith, Aled Williams and Jordan Kane helped Llandudno to 228 for seven.
It was then the turn of Jack Rimmington to tie up the win, taking four wickets as the Saints fell 98 runs short. Kerr, Chris Hardy and Luke Regan also took two wickets each.
Alex Owen hit 68 as Llandudno Seconds put together a winning total of 178 agaisnt Gresford, who fell 7 runs short.
Andy Christian and Laurence Clair starred with four and three wickets respectively.
