A MAN had a lucky escape after he was thrown from a boat into waters off Anglesey.

The Moelfre RNLI Inshore lifeboat crew picked up the man, who had fallen from the de-masted catamaran, about a quarter of a mile from the boat off Traeth Bychan yesterday (Wednesday, August 24).

Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station press officer Dave Massey said that the both the catamaran’s crew were wearing correct safety equipment.

“Moelfre RNLI Inshore Lifeboat helms woman Dwynwen Parry and her volunteer crew are trained in modern RNLI search procedures,” she said.

“Their skill and training along with the assistance of the Moelfre Coastguard contributed to this man being saved and a tragedy avoided.“
