A WOMAN was taken to hospital yesterday after a passenger cruiser struck Beaumaris pier.
The woman, who was a passenger on board the vessel, was injured when the boat hit the pier shortly after 3pm on Thursday, August 4.
The woman, along with several other passengers, was thrown forward on impact and a hole was punctured in the boat above the water line, after what is believed to have been an engine control failure.
The Beaumaris inshore lifeboat was called to bring the injured woman, who was unable to walk, off the cruiser where an ambulance took her Ysbyty Gwynedd.
The lifeboat then went back out to the cruiser to escort it safely to Gallows Point.
A Holyhead Coastguard spokesperson said that a surveyor would be carrying out a more detailed investigation into the incident today.
