BIG GUITARS, infectious melodies and thrusting beats make up Anglesey four-piece Last Approach's debut EP, which will be officially launched this month.
Undeniably rock - but refusing to be pigeon-holed further - the From Me To You EP marks a stunning release for the North Wales band.
As well as being exceptionally produced, the six track offering more importantly showcases strong song-writing and tight musicianship; creating an EP with genre-spanning appeal.
Opener Don't Carry gives classic rock a modern taste and sets the tone: this is an adrenaline-fuelled band who take as much care in poignant lyrics and catchy melodies as they do satisfying the head-banding/pogo quota.
Freakin' Out keeps the momentum going, enticing the listener in with a ramping introduction, which erupts into compulsive sing-a-long chorus.
But where Last Approach excel is in their diversity.
Turning the pace down a notch, the slower Drift keeps driving rock at the forefront, while the eclectic drum work of Looking Over My Shoulder which lurches from military-esque rolls to thrusting beats adds radio-friendly punk-rock flavours.
Thinking Of Tomorrow encapsulates the technical prowess of band musically, but never forgets the ear-pricking melodies and harmonies, before closer It's Too Late ends the release on a high with an anthemic arm-swaying number sure to have audiences reaching for their lighters (or mobile phones).
