THREE games in a week took their toll as Cefn Druids condemned a lethargic Llangefni Town side to their second defeat on the bounce.
Injury-ravaged Town were forced to field a makeshift side, who looked off the pace throughout a frustrating Saturday afternoon at Lon Talwrn.
Fifth place Flint controlled the encounter and home fans would have breathed a sigh of relief when the teams went in level at half time.
No one could begrudge the visitors the lead when Paul Williams sliced a neat ball through to Simon Thelwell, who rounded the keeper for an easy finish on 48 minutes.
The only chance of note for Town came mid way through the second half, when Marc Evans was denied the advantage and called back for a free kick, which was cleared off the line.
Neither side looked liked adding to the scoreline until experienced striker Sean Beck popped up wide right and rifled a shot into the far corner on 80 minutes.
The game came to an ugly climax when Flint’s Stef Halewood was sent off for a headbutt on Darren Thomas, followed by a substitute and assistant coach for complaining to officials.
The defeat came after convincing 1-3 away reverse against Cefn Druids in mid week.
Town will look to get back on track with a win against seventh place Porthmadog at Y Traeth on Wednesday (7.30pm).
