A STUDENT has been injured and his wallet stolen during a robbery in a Bangor car park.
Police are appealing for information after the 29-year-old male student was robbed in the Crescent university car park just after 10.30pm on Thursday, March 10.
During the robbery, which took place at the back of Regents Street, the student’s wallet, which contained a small amount of money, was stolen.
He also received a cut to his arm which required hospital treatment.
Detective Sergeant Gary Williams said the police are anxious to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything suspicious.
Police have conducted a search of the area and CCTV evidence is currently being viewed.
They are also appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or anyone who has come across a discarded wallet or any knife or weapon in the Bangor area.
Detective Sergeant Gary Williams said: “We are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“This sort of crime is very rare and we want to reassure the public that we are doing everything possible to catch those responsible. We have increased police patrols in that area and we will continue to have a visible presence whilst we carry out our investigations.”
