Boy, 16, charged with robbing elderly woman in Caernarfon

A TEENAGER has been charged with robbing an elderly woman of her handbag.

A female was arrested after the incident on Lon Arfon in Caernarfon on Wednesday night, but was released without charge.

The boy, 16, will appear before Caernarfon Magistrates Court today (Friday, February 3).

Detective Sergeant Brian Kearney said that “Swift police action on the night” resulted in the suspect being charged.

The victim, 75, is being supported and additional police patrols are being conducted in the area.

DS Kearney added:  “I would like to thank the public of Caernarfon who assisted in the investigation into this cowardly attack.

“We must stress that incidents of this nature are extremely rare in Caernarfon.”
