THE SISTER of Bangor Cathedral chorister Cho Coppock-Whittle, who died after a long battle with Leukaemia, has announced plans to hold a gig in his memory.

Lhotse Whittle said the gig, which will be held on Saturday, February 25, will feature live music and magic to celebrate Cho’s life.

“His long and hard battle with Leukaemia never phased him and even to his last breath he did not complain,” she said.

“He was the family’s peace maker, his friends’ star, the Cathedral Choir’s wonderful tenor and everyone’s amazing magician.”

Money from the gig will go to Leukaemia Research, which is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Acts due to perform at the gig include popular Anglesey folk rock act, Celtic Cowboys and the Rice Hooligan Orchestra band. There will also be DJ sets from Definition Crew, DJ Venom and the Jah Bar Sound System.

“The music line up is very exciting, the theme is magic music and some of the best acts in the area are on the bill and they are all kindly doing it for free, thank you all,” she said.

Cho died on Thursday, January 5, at his Bangor home, surrounded by friends and family.

His father John said: “The family loved him dearly and in the future he will live on in the films we made together and always in our thoughts, hearts and souls.”

The gig will take place at the Bangor Railway Institute from 7pm, with entry costing £5 on the door.
