Hundreds of people turned up to join in with the fun at the 2017 Caernarfon Carnival.

The carnival proved to be a success despite this initial blip. Carnival chairman Cemlyn Williams and Tina Williams led the parade, while Carnival Queen Sophie Harte and her retinue, which included 2017 Rosebud Brianna Owen, followed suit.

There were smiles all round as children were entertained by the Moodmwd characters and even the adults joined in with the fancy dress.

Among others involved in the parade were children from Pritchard’s Martial Arts, Trwp y Ddraig Goch, members of Ysgol Ddawns Anti Karen and Caernarfon Rugby Club and Caernarfon Food Festival representatives were also present.

A spokesperson for the carnival said: “It was a fantastic day as the weather just about managed to hold out this time around. To think we had to rearrange the event, there was a very good turnout of people and we hope to see the same again next year.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all those who attended and made this a day to remember for everyone in the Town of Caernarfon.”
