Folk favourites Kan to play Trelawnyd gig

The Record Journal Live presents Kan at Trelawnyd Memorial Hall on Saturday, February 13.

Kan consists of Lau and Flook members Brian Finnegan and Aidan O’Rourke, alongside drummer James Goodwin and guitarist Ian Stephenson.

Ian said: “There are probably dozens upon dozens of grown men who grew up listening to Flook and Lau, harboring dreams of being in a band with Brian or Aidan one day. Well that's me now. I'm chuffed to bits.”

On stage, Kan perform in an arc with no lead musician, and each instrument contributes to the melodic content.

Their debut album Sleeper also reflects this refreshing approach to collaboration.

Between them the lads have boast an impressive list of collaborations, including Kate Rusby, Cara Dillon, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Blazin’ Fiddles, Jack Bruce, OMD, Sawhney, Katherine Jenkins and Sting.
