ROCK musician Mike Peters will be greeted with scores of fans when he travels from coast-to-coast for a 24-hour transatlantic tour.

Mike Peters and The Alarm are releasing a “very special” limited edition eight-track – vinyl only – EP, entitled Where The Two Rivers Meet Extended Play, which will only be available exclusively at participating Record Store Day outlets worldwide.

To celebrate the release, the frontman of The Alarm, who lives in Dyserth with wife Jules and sons Dylan and Evan, will undertake a 24-hour transatlantic tour, performing in Newport, London, New York and Los Angeles – all within the same day to mark Record Store Day this Saturday, April 21.

Speaking to the Journal, Mike said: “The Wales segment will be at Le Public Space, Newport at 7.30pm Friday, April 20. I will be playing an acoustic set and fans will get to hear the Record Store Day eight-track EP for the first time too.

“London timing is a little sketchy at present. It is all dependent on getting to London after the Newport live set – I figure somewhere around 3am to 4am realistically when, hopefully, there will be the beginnings of a queue forming.

“I then have to be at Heathrow at 6am for check-in.” On Friday evening, Mike will perform live and host a pre-record store day ‘listening party’ that will feature a full acoustic set at Le Public Space, 14 High Street, Newport.

Here, the musician will sign copies of a “unique” Where The Two Rivers Meet inner sleeve.

Following the party, he will head to London to perform live throughout the night outside record stores such as Rough Trade East and West, ‘busking’ to the lines of record collecting fans waiting for Record Store Day to officially open.

At 8am, Mike will then leave on the first flight out of Heathrow for New York, and Looney Tunes Records in Babylon, Long Island, where he will perform a live acoustic set at 1pm (EST) from the in-store sound-stage and also host a signing session.

At 5.35pm (EST), Mike will then hop on a second aircraft which will take him on to Los Angeles for an appearance at Fingerprints Records in Long Beach, California.

Here, he will again make a live and acoustic personal appearance followed by a record-signing session.

Last month, Mike was flown back to UK after suffering a serious allergic reaction whilst on tour in Germany.
