45 cats and kittens need caring homes

A GWYNEDD animal shelter is desperately seeking loving homes for 45 unwanted cats and kittens.
Owners of these pets do not realise the care they need and most unwanted cats end up on the streets.
There are many animal rescue centres across Wales however, these sanctuary's are becoming more and more over crowded.
There are currently 45 cats and kittens at the Freshfields animal rescue shelter, near Caernarfon,
And it is proving difficult to find reliable, responsible owners to take on these cats and care for them.
This year, there are already more kittens at the shelter than this time last year.
Lesley Tarleton, of Freshfields, urged people to be responsible when it comes to pets and to get their cats neutered.
Lesley said: "To those people who may be thinking it would be nice for their pet to just have one litter, please, please think again there are simply too many around and not enough homes for them all.
"I cannot understand why it is no better with all the help being offered from various organisations to neuter pets.
"It seems people are ignoring advice or don't know there is help out there. Every year there are thousand of unwanted kittens being born all over the UK. There simply are not enough homes for all these homeless animals so it is imperative owners have their cats neutered before they can start breeding.
"We are full now to capacity and cannot take in any more unless we find homes for those we have."
If anyone can offer a good caring home for a cat or volunteer to help out at the sanctuary please contact Lesley Tarleton on 01286 880808.
